Robert Kline — President, Chief Executive Officer

Robert is a serial entrepreneur and executive with over 25 years of experience in the healthcare and life science industries. Most recently he was President and CEO of ViroCyt, Inc. ViroCyt was founded to develop and commercialize rapid virus quantification methods which can be used to accelerate development of new vaccines and gene therapy applications. The company’s products were quickly adopted by leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies and ViroCyt was acquired by Sartorius AG in July 2016. Previously Robert was the Founder, President and CEO of Medivance, Inc., which he built into the worldwide leader in therapeutic hypothermia treatment for critically ill patients. Medivance was acquired by CR Bard in 2011 for $260M and Robert was named Entrepreneur of the Year for the Mountain/Desert Region by Ernst and Young. Prior to Medivance, Robert held senior management positions at Pfizer and Covidien. Robert earned a MBA from the University of Colorado, a MS in Microbiology from the University of Illinois and a BA in chemistry from Colorado College.

John G. Adair — Chief Financial Officer

John has over 25 years of financial and operational experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device arenas. Prior to joining Bolder Surgical, John co-founded Micro-Imaging Solutions whereby he led the finance and business development efforts for over 15 years. Prior to that role, John spent most of his career as a finance executive with large, multi-national corporations including Akzo-Nobel NV, Amgen and Thermo Fisher Scientific. John is a graduate of both Colorado State University where he earned a BS in Accounting and the University of Colorado-Denver where he earned an MS in Finance. John is also a CPA.

Dale Schmaltz — Chief Technical Officer

Dale co-founded JustRight Surgical® (now Bolder Surgical™) in 2011. He has over 29 years of medical device development experience where he has contributed to over 50 patents and launched more than 10 successful products into new and existing markets. During his 15-year tenure at Valleylab/Covidien, Dale held positions of increasing responsibility in product and technology development including the role of VP R&D. As an early inventor on the platform, Dale championed the LigaSure™ vessel sealing technology from concept to a $500 million business. In addition to his experience at Covidien, Dale worked from 1990-1994 as an R&D Project Manager at SciMed Life Systems. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Dakota and an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University.

Donna Ford-Serbu ­— Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Donna has over 22 years of experience in the medical devices. She most recently served as SVP, Lead Management with commercial and R&D responsibilities at Spectranetics until the company was sold to Philips for $2.2B in summer 2017.

Prior to Spectranetics, Donna spent 13 years at Covidien, the last 3 years with Respiratory and Monitoring Solutions where she drove efforts to transform Patient Monitoring resulting in 32% growth through organic programs and acquisition of two companies, Aspect Medical and Somanetics. She spent 10 years with the Energy-based Devices division, holding positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of sales and marketing management, business development, and strategy and portfolio.

Donna is a co-founder and serves on the board of Eximis Surgical. She holds an MBA from the University of Rochester, and a BS from the University of Colorado.

Robert Luzzi ­— Vice President of Product Development

Bob has over 25 years in the medical device industry, most recently serving as VP of R&D for Woven Orthopedic Technologies, an early stage orthopedic/spine biotextile implant company. Bob is an expert in leading technically-diverse product development programs as well as designing and implementing regulatory, quality systems, and clinical research programs for emerging technology companies. Bob has led product development initiatives for both multi-national and start-up medical device companies and has helped shepherd 38 product lines and over 110 products from concept to commercialization. Bob is also an inventor on 45 pending patents and is a Certified Patent Agent. Previously Bob held senior management positions at Sky Medical Development, DFine Inc., Johnson & Johnson, and Medtronic. He holds a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University, a MS in Bioengineering and BS in Bioengineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Brad Greathouse ­— Vice President of Quality and Regulatory

Brad brings over 30 years of medical device experience in quality assurance and regulatory affairs to his role at Bolder Surgical. Brad spent much of his career with Covidien, Energy-based Devices division, with responsibilities including quality management systems, design QA, supplier QA, reliability engineering, customer complaint management, risk management and regulatory affairs. More recently, Brad has worked for several startup companies, implementing compliant and right-sized quality management systems and regulatory strategies, and building quality-based cultures. Brad holds a BS degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
